As much as I gripe or jest about the woes of pregnancy, I have to confess that it’s been a really beautiful time for me. I know some women have really difficult pregnancies, but I’ve been blessed with a smooth and happy last eight months. Sometimes I’m fairly dumbfounded by the work the human body can do, and I’m already aware just how much I’m going to miss feeling him kick inside of me. Selfish it may be, but I relish the fact that right now it’s just me and him.
When my friend Kristin offered to take maternity photos for me, I knew right away that I had to document this period of my life. This guy will always be my first baby, first pregnancy. While the idea of getting in front of the camera with third trimester cankles was little disconcerting, I knew I’d be in good hands. Kristin and I have a friendship that spans over 15 years, so if anyone knows how to make me feel comfortable, it’s her. Familiarity aside, she has a truly beautiful eye for photography.
