Here we are wrapping up another month, and I’m just scratching my head wondering where the time went. I dunno if the time-warp phenomenon I’m feeling is a symptom of pregnancy or if it’s just been a particularly whirlwind May, but it’s more than a little mindblowing that over a month ago we were off on our trip to New Orleans. Feels like just yesterday! (Feel free to hand me my AARP card anytime, reaching grandma nostalgia status over here.)
We met with our pediatrician at the beginning of the month, and the topic of pre-baby plans came up. He looked at us like we had 3 heads each when we mentioned that in May we were going to have a grand total of 10 houseguests staying with us on multiple occasions spread across the month. But as we round out this weekend we will have checked all of those events off of our calendar! It’s been so fun squeezing in time with all of our favorite people before having a little quiet time pre-baby arrival.
Heading into June, it’s almost comical how empty our calendar is. We went from solid weeks of our guest bedroom being booked up, with childbirthing classes and pediatrician interviews and work functions thrown in throughout, to literally nothing. We have a garage sale planned for the middle of the month, but other than that and my weekly doctor’s appointments, we got nothing. After such a busy May it’ll be somewhat refreshing to have some time to recharge. I have lots of baby projects planned, and hopefully this blog will get a little more TLC instead of throwing together posts from bed the morning of. (Remember me mentioning that editorial calendar? HA.)
We’ll keep this short and sweet so everyone can get on with their weekends, but I just wanted to drop a friendly hello to the Internets. This mama now requires a mid-morning nap followed by second breakfastes, but the rest of y’all go forth and seize the Fri-day! Or also partake in naptime. Either’s good.
